Finally Here

After a long day of traveling I'm finally in my hotel room and laying down watching football.  I woke up pretty early but unusually happy.  I had to "catch my ride" :) to the airport, and from there nothing went right.  My flight was suppose to leave at 9:40 from Greensboro to Charlotte, but the flight was delayed.  Imagine that, the first flight of the day is late so you know the rest of the day is going to be off.  Were waiting for our plane to arrive and about 9:30 they call me up and tell me I've been rerouted.  I thought to myself, great, now we're back on schedule.  They rerouted me to a flight directly to Philly, bypassing Charlotte altogether, but once I got to the gate it had also been delayed.  Eventually it came and the connecting plane is Philly was about an hour late, so I got to New York late also.  I rode on the smallest plane I've ever been on in Philly.  So small we had to walk outside to get to it.  Luckily, it was raining and windy outside so we got a taste of some good weather.  It was a bumpy one hour flight up to New York.  Once I got to New York I met some of the other guys and we got to the hotel.  Feel free to visit me; I'm at the Hyatt on Long Island, NY haha.  We had a very nice dinner tonight and met the staff and all the players on both the Generals and Globetrotters rosters.  For the next week we'll be having two-a-days until we leave Thursday to head overseas.  So far so good.  I'll try to keep everyone updated and hopefully I can get some pictures on here soon.  We're having a PR day sometime before we leave so I'll get that up asap.  Feel free to comment and keep in touch while I'm on the road.  I'm not quite missing home yet but I'm sure I will be soon enough.  Oh yeah, and congrats to my little sis for committing to Wingate University on a basketball scholarship.  Follow me on facebook, skype or email.  My skype name is rhett.bonner or email me at rhett.bonner@gmail.com  Look for me on here in a few days.

The Day Before I Leave

Well, I'm new at this so bare with me.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of typos and incorrect grammar usage while I'l trying to figure this new blog thing out.  Anyways, I'm leaving tomorrow morning, so I'm trying to pack everything up and remember all the last minute items I'll need.  I feel like I'm going to forget something important like my passport, but hopefully I won't.  I'm flying out of Greensboro tomorrow morning at 9:40 which means I have to be there at 7:40, so I'm going to be staying in Greensboro and catch a ride to the aiport.  I should be arriving in New York around 4:00.  From there I'll start meeting everyone and hopefully hit the gym soon and learn everything.  I'll keep you updated once I arrive in the big city....
